Cari Montgomery

Co-Owner/Therapist- LCSW

Cari is excited to endeavor in this amazing new virtual therapy practice. While she is not currently accepting new clients, Cari and Madeline have collaborated to create a safe and easily accessible therapeutic space based on the philosophies below that have been cultivated over years of therapeutic practice.

Cari believes the agent of change always comes from within and that we all have the infinite wisdom to heal and enhance our lives. With psychodynamic therapy, we simply nurture that journey and create a safe space to help facilitate an understanding of yourself. Observing the influence of different mental and emotional patterns can be incredibly powerful for personal growth.

Whether it’s managing anxiety or depression, or navigating other traumas, Cari has found psychodynamic therapy to be a powerful framework. The most important piece of the “therapeutic puzzle” could be described as unlocking a sense of shelter and trust.

Recently, Cari has integrated Brainspotting into her practice. Brainspotting utilizes the client-therapist relationship, along with focused mindfulness, to promote healing in a deeper way than talk therapy alone. It’s all about customizing the process in whichever ways make sense for you. Cari’s approach provides a welcoming environment for clients to discuss sex and sexuality. Cari is proud to affirm the LGBTQIA+ community, as well as other intimate aspects of the human experience.

Jessica Smith

Therapist - LCSW

Jessica Smith is originally from Atlanta, GA and attended the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!) where she received a bachelor’s degree in Communications. She worked for several years in the nonprofit development field before deciding that she wanted to return to school part time to pursue a Masters of Social Work degree. During this time, she lived and worked in inner city Philadelphia, Washington D.C. and then did some rural social service work in Central Pennsylvania. All of these different experiences have impacted the way she views therapy today.

Jessica believes in a person-centered approach to therapy and meeting clients where they are. She believes that everyone receives support and goes through the process of self-work differently, and it is important to work together to make therapy work for you in your unique circumstances.

Jessica has worked primarily with adolescents and families managing depression, anxiety, trauma, and major changes to the family system. She also has a lot of experience working with individuals with substance use disorders. Jessica mainly utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and in some cases, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, along with teaching and implementing appropriate coping skills in order to make progress. Jessica looks forward to getting to know you and working together on your goals!
